Do you remember a movie called Hatchet ? Starring Kane Hooder, Robert Englund and Tony Todd ? The film came out in 2006 and was directed by Adam Green ? Well for those who did see the excellent inde horror flick, Green is now putting out is new movie called Frozen.
Three skiers are stranded on a chairlift and forced to make life-or-death choices that prove more perilous than staying put and freezing to death.

For our second Retro Friday, I decided to talk about a film produced by Black Flag Picture and directed by Sv Bell : She-Demon of the Black Sun.
She-Demon was Sv Bell third film after The Night They Return and Purple Glow. It’s starring Isabel Stephen, Melantha Blackthorne and the beautiful Suzi Lorraine.
When foreign student Isabelle met club owner Big Dan, she couldn’t possibly know the man and his friends had some special plans for her. If you guys are traveling around the convention circuit, you do know that Shock-O-Rama is one of the best independent horror company. They put out on the market a couple of films a years and most of the time, film that come from Shock-O-Ram are worthy. Well, a couple of week ago I saw the trailer of a new movie that they are putting out called ROT : Reunion of Terror.
The movie is directed by Michael Hoffman Jr. a young director under 30 years old who already directed 6 movies. I never saw on if his film but the trailer of ROT if kinda good. You can check out Hoffman bio if you want to know more about him.
Ten years after graduation, six high school friends celebrate their reunion by renting a secluded hunting cabin. However, the party ends abruptly as several members of the group go missing. As the night progresses, a secret is uncovered which reveals one of the most controversial and brutal twist endings in cinematic history.
The movie seems to be a typical Shock-O-Rama release. Horror, Nudity, gore, lesbians are all apart of the film ! Really looking to watch this independent flick !

Today I decide to talk to you about a really special zombie movie. Portrait of a Zombie.
Bing Bailey is directing is first feature film and I should say that the trailer of the film look really great.
A working class Irish family is caught up in a zombie invasion of Dublin, Ireland. When their son, Billy, becomes a zombie the family chooses to take care of him in the home much to the chagrin of the neighbors and the local crime boss. Meanwhile, they’ve invited an American documentarian to film their situation and the film crew is caught up in the mayhem. Will the family prove that blood is thicker than water or will their love lead to their eventual doom? One thing is clear, for the zombies in Ireland, the famine is definitely over.

You know these days, with the technology dans the raise of the independent horror film business it’s really hard to get the money you want to produced a decent film. You really have to find a way to show your product and sometime you need to show it before you even do it. And that’s what Kevin Jamison is trying to do with is project Serial : Amoral Uprising.
Who is Trenton Bracks? Well, whats there to say? Loyal and honest, he’s a credit to southern gentlemen. Pleasant, carefree, and highly refined. He’s got what it takes to be a model citizen. He’s got looks and charm, a real lady-killer. Trenton seems to have a good head on his shoulders, and one in his hands, and one in the basement…

This is a prologue that we filmed, funded and produced on an independent level in effort to get the promotional ball rolling on a much bigger script that we plan to shoot in the summer of 2010. Amoral Uprising is just the beginning of a much larger story that profiles the life and crimes of a manipulative sociopath and serial killer. Greatly inspired by crime/horror films such as Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Maniac, Kalifornia and legendary true crime author Ann Rule.
Although the character and story may be fiction, the actions and events that transpire throughout the main character’s life are in fact inspired by a large number of true life cases such as Ted Bundy, Henry Lee Lucas and Edmund Kemper just to name a few. This is NOT your garden variety slasher flick. He’s not freddy or jason. He’s someone you could see as your drinking buddy, your co worker or the guy hired to fix the roof on your house. Using his sleek exterior and cunning personality as a tool to his advantage, especially when it comes to using manipulation to get what he wants out of people and particular situations.
Underneath a mask of sanity lies the true identity that is only shown to a select few.

So like I announce last Monday, we will now have a Retro Friday each week. The goal of Retro Friday is to present you a “old” independent horror flick that I saw in the past year. ! So for the first Retro Friday I present you on of the funniest inde horror flick I saw and it’s call My Dead Girlfriend.
My Dead Girlfriend is an independent comedy horror flick directed by Brett Kelly. It’s about a guy, Steve, accidentally kills his girlfriend. He then decide to bring her back to life without knowing that she will be hungry and that she will try to eat all his friends.
I first saw this movie at the Montreal Fantasia Film festival. I remember been in the movie theatre just for fun. I actually went there because I know that the film was made in Ottawa, Canada which is 2 hours away from my hometown. I also remember that I laugh A LOT during the screening !
So if you want to laugh a good time I suggest you to go to amazon and buy yourself a copie from tempe video.
Wow I just watch the trailer of a movie that seems to be called Underground 2010 !
I’m saying “seems” to be called because the official website is step into hell . com. Also, I just can’t find anything about the film. Can’t find the director name, Can’t find any company credits. If you go to the official website, the only thing that you will find is the trailer and the contact page. Anyway the trailer looks really cool so go check it out ! If I got some more infos about the film , I give it to you folks.
